    violin, usual scroll head, four pegs, bridge separated from violin, four strings, attached chin rest, two thin double border lines on front and back board, two piece back in which there is a gap where back of the neck slips into the back of the body.

    Case - violin shaped, exterior covered with black fabric which is badly scuffed and frayed, three hinges connect lid to base, the hinge near neck is broken, three fastening clasps in front, central clasp has a lock, soft brown leather handle, two studs on bottom of case, interior green felt very tattered, interior box lid broken - attached with masking tape, one large almost square yellow silk scarf.
