  • Description

    violin, maple body, scroll head, each rosewood peg has a small circle of mother of pearl inlay in head, usual neck, black fingerboard, black tailpiece, bridge in place, three strings, one fine tuner in place, purple velvet fabric chin rest attached, front has surface line decoration, one piece back, exaggerated `Stainer' arching on back and belly, extensive acid antiquing to varnish.

    Case, solid black wood case, metal handle and lock, decorative metal clasps wither side, two metal hinges join lid to base, interior has five boxes which are lined with pink and cream geometric pattern paper, case interior has bright blue felt type fabric, one felt ribbon connects lid to box. Bow, usual wood, slightly concave bow stick, octagonal ended, movable ebony frog, nickel silver bottom plate, two mother of pearl eyes either side of frog, ebony screw with nickel silver ferrule and mother of pearl eye, nickel silver ferrule connects hair to bone tip end and hatchet head.
