Gas mask used by a British Officer at Ypres, WW1

This is probably a reference to the Second Battle of Ypres which took place between April and September 1915. See report below and note that this type of helmet was introduced into the British Army circa May 1915.

Reported in Auckland Star, 12th April 1916:-

"Two war masks which are exhibited in the shop window of the E. and F. Piano Agency Company in Queen Street, are attracting a good deal of attention. They were sent to the Misses Isaacs, of Auckland, by Dr. C.H. Haines, formerly resident in this city. The masks were sent from the battlefield to England by a lieutenant in the London Scottish, who took part in the great engagement between the Allies and Germans at Ypres. One of the masks, with goggles and a mouthpiece, is a German article, and the other is of English manufacture."
