  • Description

    Toki. Adze. Multipurpose tool used for carving wood and other materials. Carved from aphanitic basalt toka (stone). Dark grey in colour. Trapezoidal cross-section. Sharp cutting edge. Long shallow bevel surface slightly concave towards the cutting edge. Front of blade is flat and highly polished. Poll end is polished. Pecked at the poll. Surface of the adze is highly polished with pecking still evident in some areas.
