  • Description

    Toki tarai. Hafted adze. Toki (adze - trapezoidal in cross section) of basalt stone lashed with braided puru akari (coconut sennit) to shaped wooden haft, loss at the terminal end. The toki is carved and polished at the blade and left roughly pecked at the poll. The toki is dark in colour. The lashing and carved wooden haft are stained dark in colour.
