Note: The appearance of the medals suggests that they were never worn by Sgt Melhuish.
Vincent William Melhuish was born in 1909, in Wellington. He enlisted in 1939 and served with the 5th Field Regiment. His occupation prior to enlistment was Radio Technician. He served overseas in Africa before being discharged as medically unfit with asthma in June 1943. He died in 1984.
