    Auaro. Pillow slip with tivaevae manu tataura design. Companion to ethnology numbers 55856 (auaro, pillow slip) and 55854 (large tivaevae manu, quilt). Rectangular shape to fit a bed pillow, with added ruffles of same material along all four sides. Slip made of light green cotton material and machine sewn (tui auri) with hand sewn (tui rima) taro and leaf applique design on one side of the slip in dark green cotton material.

    Ombre orange edge embroidery along outlines of the vaito (design). Orange cotton inserts between applique and green background. Plain light green on back side.
