Woven in a coiled technique from natural voivoi (pandanus) strands over a titi (mangrove reed) frame, incorporating dyed red vau (hibiscus bast) for decorative effect. Blade is shaped like a spade. Handle of shaped natural coloured wood split to its midway point. Coiled fibre blade is wedged down securely between the split wood and wrapped together with additional strip of voivoi.
