    pumice container

  • Description

    pumice bowl. Referred to as a pumice fire container. Piece of pumice with an uneven outer surface and a broad groove 50 mm across, and 9-10 mm deep, around the outer surface. The upper surface is 'level' and smoother in texture than the outside. The interior cavity is 113 x 98 x 85 mm. Sides of cavity vertical but the base is rounded and irregular. A piece of pumice has broken off one end at the upper surface but has been reglued. Has "Mangere" written on the object.
