    German belt buckle, with Wurttemberg badge, "FURCTHLOS UND TREW", WW1

    slightly convex, stamped brass oblong buckle, "FURCTHLOS UND TREW" (Fearless & true); two-piece construction, with central [brass] stamped roundel; plain, obverse field with Württemberg coat of arms to domed centre, bordered by dual "twisted rope" border; within border, against a ribbed background,"FURCTHLOS UND TREW", (Fearless and True); rondel edge pierced by two nails which are bent over on reverse over circular leather patch. Also on reverse: raised buckle catch, and a metal prong bar with dual prongs.
