    betel nut set in a woven basket;

    used by land dayak people of borneo;

    made from cane, cloth textile, and wood;

    basket is woven from fine cane in plait technique; cylindrical shape with a square wood frame at the base and 4 wooden supports on the exterior that are incised and inked with spiral and line designs; plait weave on base underside; cane is coloured dark and light brown and arranged in thick straps; braided rim to basket, rim has strips of cane creating fringe on the interior; cloth handle tied under the exterior frame
