  • Description

    Matau. Fish hook. Used for deep sea fishing of barracuda. Shank carved from a single piece of wood. Metal point with barb that is lashed on short end of shank using metal wire and cotton thread. Fishing line consists of metal wire and is lashed onto long end of shank using metal wire. "1030. RAROTONGA. PRES. DR. BUCK" is written in black ink on bend of shank. "RAROTONGA DR. BUCK PRESENTED" is written in black ink on the sticker. Good condition overall.
