"Somewhere in France 14/11/16
My dear son
Well old man I dont know if you are getting all the Postcards I am sending you if you are you should have a lot by now and I have sent you a good many since I have been away from old N.Z. My dear Sonie I would like to see your dear little face again & Mum & not forgetting that little sister of yours that will be another one for you to look after till I come home now Sonie I cant write mutch [sic] on this card so I will say good by & god bless you & Mum & Baby I remain your loving father, F.S.W.
