    Rifleman Frank Whitaker 25/1840 worked as a builder's labourer in Auckland. A married man with one child and with his wife pregnant, he left New Zealand on 1 April 1916 with the 11th Reinforcements. he served with the Third Battalion, Third New Zealand (Rifles) Brigade in France and was killed before Passchendaele on 12 October 1917
