Kete. Bag. For carrying personal items. Kete is woven from rauara (pandanus leaf) strips with dyed apuraka (giant swamp taro) akamanea (decoration). rectangular in shape. The kete has a patara (serrated rim). Dyed-red, dyed-brown, and dyed-black apuraka strips are overlaid to form three surface patterns known as pupu (stepped), punarua (row of natural-coloured squares, each standing on one corner), and rau nahe (continuous lines of a short zig-zag running upwards towards the right).
