  • Description

Te binobino n ran. Water container. These are two dark brown binobino (coconut shell receptacles) held together with a short braid of te kora (coconut sennit fibre cordage). Te binobino are spherical in shape and form a soft peak where small circular cavities are positioned. The surface of te binobino are smooth and matte in texture. The soft opening out of the three circular eyes that feature at the top of te binobino, have been pushed out to create a circular perforation.

A small wedge has been attached to the braided ends of te kora which has then been inserted through the perforations. These act as an anchor to hold te binobino together. One of te binobino features a running crack on its surface.
