Te reeree. Sword. This is an ornamental depiction of the reeree. It has been cut from a length of light coloured kanni (coconut palm wood). The length has been filed and carved to portray both the handle and blade as one component. The handle is cylindrical in form with a circular cross-section at its base. The intersection of the handle and the blade has been covered by an encasement of the ira (pandanus leaf).

The irauea (cordage of human hair) has been woven through the encasement defining a checkered pattern. It has also been used to bound off the lengths of the ira creating a long, fibrous fringe finish at the beginning of the blade. The blade section is flat in depth and tapers into a point at the top of the reeree. A curved ridge has been carved out and runs vertically along the central area of the blade on both sides. A series of perforations has been made along both edges of the blade that finish before a hackle of the ira near the point of the reeree. Two furrows have been filed out of the edges towards the hackle of the ira. Large wii ni bakoa (sharks teeth) have been individually inlayed into the side furrows and placed adjacent to the perforations upon the blade. A central perforation features through each wii ni bakoa. This is for the purpose of the kora (cordage of coconut sennit fibres) that has been used to lash and secure each wii ni bakoa to the sides through the perforations of the blade. Just before the end of the reeree another hackle of the ira has been attached in the same manner as the one that encases the area between the blade and handle.
