    Egyptian appliqué wall hanging or runner acquired in Egypt as a souvenir during WW1 by 6/2895 Lieut. George Sissmore Lavie. One of three sent back to his wife in New Zealand.

    Lt GS Lavie served in the Canterbury Infantry Regiment, and was later killed in France on 11 June 1916.
