Used for pounding food or ingredients for producing dyes. Carved from a single piece of stalactite. Overall shape is conical. Pounding surface at base is flat, exhibits plenty of wear. Reduction from base to form cylindrical grip. Top of the pounder ends with a transverse bar. Surface is rough to the touch, treated to low level of polish. Light amber colour.
