    Mendi shield made from a beaten out metal drum, painted with the national bird of New Guinea (bird of paradise) in red and yellow on a black background. Cassowary feathers attached along top of shield. Also has split cane in centre which is used to form handle at back. Two holes right side proper with split cane attached.
