Merit 156.43"; nine prizewinner's names listed flanking central inscription: rhs: Lt. A.C. Wellesley, Grenadier Gds; W.F.C.Grey. 34th Regt.; G. Mainwaring. 16th; F.B. Dillon. 66th; T.V. Shepherd. 109th; lhs: Ens. E.F. Gilbert. 49th; U.T. Nares [?]. 17th [?]; Capt. J.G. McRae. Bombay Staff Corps."

    note: original glass base missing and upper edge of tankard has been cut away
