  • Description

    Stoneware, combed slip, porcelain.

    Kobayashi evokes notions of landscapes, forested hills and man-made structures situated within, in these simply wrought but sophisticated works.

    The artist has exhibited regularly in the Fletcher Challenge Ceramics Awards exhibitions at Auckland War Memorial Museum. He is part of a Nara-based extended family of artists that includes textile makers and blacksmiths as well as ceramists.
