human history
  • Other Name

    untitled

  • Description

    Stoneware, glaze.

Kazuo Takiguchi has pioneered a unique method where he uses large sheets of extremely thin clay and works swiftly and dynamically forming his vessels upside-down. He then adds character and definition by pushing from the inside, compressing the outside, cutting and joining.

Swelling curves and soft angles with arching and rounded bases are characteristic of his work, giving them an individual aesthetic and technical sophistication.
