Plum Flower Pattern Bowl (maker's title)

Porcelain, multiple glazes. The fourteenth generation of an important family of potters, the Imaimon Imaizumi is an inherited name and the family holds the title of ‘Intangible Cultural Property’. The family are from the Arita area on the island of Kyushu where Japanese porcelains were first produced during the early part of the seventeenth century. The Imaizumi family made Nabeshima ware which was for domestic consumption.
