    Toki. Adze. This is a toki made of maea (rock). The toki is dark grey in colour with a flake finish. The surface of the maea may also be referred to as poro which means smooth. Toki is considered an ancestral tool in Rapa Nui and was used to carve large figures out of wood or maea.
