    Whale jaw bone decorated with scrimshaw

    Purchased in Edinburgh. It is one piece of a jaw with six teeth. The nose end of the jaw has porous texture to the bone and along the jaw are small holes in the bone. The scrimshaw design is of two females wearing hats, one is in traditional Scottish dress with a turban-like headdress. Above the figures are two flowers
