    Regimental flag of 18 NZ Armoured Regt. carried in action during WW2. The flag was taken by Capt. Barrance as a souvenir when the regiment was disbanded in Italy in 1945. Donor uncertain of when it became the Regimental Flag, but is "sure that it is the one we took to Italy in 1943.

    " The 18th NZ Armoured Regiment was originally the 18th Auckland Battalion of the 1st Echelon, formed in September 1939 and after the end of El Alamein in 1942 the battalion became part of the 4 NZ Armoured Brigade, changing its name to 18 NZ Armoured Regiment. The flag was presented by Lt.Col. Kelvin Brown on behalf of members of the Regiment.
