  • Description

    Tekoteko from runanga house, named Rangitihi. At the bottom of this tekoteko is a naturalistic head with painted black facial moko. Above this is a wheku head, on which stands a full figure, with hands to his stomach. At the very top is a naturalistic full figure, also with moko, and wearing a top hat. All four figures have paua shell inset eyes, and have been painted red. The name, "Matenga Te Ruru" has been painted at the top of this tekoteko.
