    Auckland Harbour Bridge Authority uniform tie [1984]

    The Auckland Harbour Bridge which opened in May 1959, began as a toll bridge, with toll-booths on the northern end with uniformed toll-operators who collected fees from north and south-bound traffic. With the removal of the toll in 1984 this uniform became obsolete.
