    Adze (English)

  • Description

    Toki. Adze. Multipurpose tool used for carving wood and other materials. Carved from toka (stone). Light grey in colour. Triangular cross-section. Sharp cutting edge. Small bevel surface. Front of blade is rounded. Slight shoulder at the top of the blade, reduces to butt. Adze terminates in a short butt and roughly worked poll. Overall surface treatment of the adze is roughly polished, area of flaking still evident.
