  • Description

    Figurine of a ball player. Head and torso only, one arm and both legs missing. Handmade. Headdress a horizontal band with three rough indentations across it and a crescent shaped roll above. The eyes are two short indentations, the nose a narrow raised ridge above the gash for the mouth. Prognathic in profile. Two asymmetric earspools. The surviving arm clasps a oval object, interpreted as a ball. The opposite arm ends below the shoulder. The stomach is damaged.

    The back shows the contours of the arm and shoulder but is otherwise plain. Light orange brown in colour. Faint traces of red pigment below right eye, on left earspool and mouth.
