head, figurine

human history
  • Description

Figurine head. The headdress is a wide band with a taller panel behind. The broad band above the forehead has had a central (disc?) element broken out and the ends broken off. The panel has had the top and end damaged. A band running from the headdress around the outside of the face like a chin strap may indicate the wearing of a mask. Eyes slit style, flattened nose with oblique bridge underscored by a straight indent, mouth straight indent.

Traces of white pigment in 'chin strap' crevices. Broken at neck
