head, figurine

human history
  • Description

Figurine head. Flat topped head. Small break scars and light-coloured strip around top of forehead may indicate headdress elements have been broken off. One earspool with central indent survives, the other broken off leaving an obvious break scar. Eyes straight incised lines almost undifferentiated from a similar line above, and the three lines on each cheek below. Nose compact with two indents as nostrils. Mouth a deep indent highlighted by red pigment. Rounded chin.

Broken at neck. Dark , possibly degraded black pigment on face and in indents.
