    Japanese Type 92 Navy 7mm Lewis pattern light machine-gun; World War II. Many early Japanese machine-guns were licensed copies of the Hotchkiss, but in the early 1930s the Lewis gun was adopted for use with a cartridge based on the British .303. Both the Type 89 and the Type 92 were based on the Lewis.
