    pair of percussion pistols; .574 inch calibre; octagonal barrels; smoothbore; highly foliate engraved lock, trigger guard, barrel strap, and hammer; half stock; chequering on pistol grip; with ramrods, .1 appears to have configured as a cleaning rod with threads at either end, .2 has a ramrod; silver engraved inserts on butt; "English spur"; escutcheon on wrist of butt

    London proof, presumably under barrel covered by halfstock

    case: wooden rectangular case; brass escutcheon on top with hinged handle; lined with green baize; six compartments, two with wooden lids
