This was a standard British and Commonwealth sidearm during WW2. The No 2 Mk 1* (introduced in 1932) featured a spurless hammer, suited for use by Tank Crews. The No 2 Mk 1** (introduced in 1943) was a simplified version, suited for wartime production.
