    Belonged to Major TA Blake

    History not known, possibly WW2

Thomas Arnold Blake (1882-1966) was a member of the Rangoon Vol. Rifles from 1906. By 1913 he was living in New Zealand and tended horses of the Special Constables camped in the Auckland Domain during the 1913 Waterfront Strike, probably as an employee of the Department of Agriculture.

During WW1 he enlisted as a Captain in the New Zealand Veterinary Corps (Service no 13/637) embarking with the Main Body. He served as an official veterinarian in the 1NZEF in France & Egypt: initially as a member of the Veterinary Corps attached to the Auckland Mounted Rifles in Egypt & Palestine, and later on the Western Front. On 29 August 1915, while in Egypt, he married Mabel Deane.

Post-WW1 TA Blake served in the Territorial Army as Major.
