  • Description

    Figurine head in monkey form with feather headdress. Head with a protruding forehead. A plain curved headdress backing behind the head has feathers at the top decorated with circlets with internal dots. Much of the backing and feathers broken out. Ear adornment is provided by curved bands with a hanging leaf form through it , the lower tips pointed and out-turned. Heavy brow ridges. Eyes round with dots for pupils. Monkey nose and mouth abraded.

    Feathers or fur depicted on lower cheeks. Wearing a neck ornament of a band of overlapping discs with three elongate elements suspended from it. A round element sits on the shoulder. An upper arm and pectorals of the torso survive. Back flattish. Broken obliquely across the chest. White pigment on the front and back. Red on the front.
