  • Description

    figurine head, ceramic. Mould made. 'Tlaloc'. Wearing segmented headdress with ears and chin strap, and eye-rings. Top and sides of ears broken off. Ears defined by a raised outline with feather-like border. Top of helmet has seven vertical rows of bar-like elements and a band of overlapping discs with a 'button' at the centre across the forehead. The chin strap is made of three rows of overlapping discs with three 'buttons' in a vertical row beneath the chin.

    Eye rings over rimmed and lidded eyes. Nose abraded. Mouth straight with curled upper lip, imperfections on both defined lips. Sides at the chinstraps broken off. Back slightly concave. Broken below chin straps. White pigment on the front. Traces of red pigment on one ear. Mexico
