    German pompom shell and case, WW1

    Collected: 5/614 QMS Arthur William James Page, NZ Army Service Corps, 1NZEF.

    Arthur Page served with the College Rifle Volunteers from 16.4.1910 to 31.5.1911, followed by service with the Divisional Signal Company (and its Reserve) Auckland from 1.6.1911 to 8.10.1915,when he joined the NZ Expeditionary Force to serve with the NZ Army Service Corps (attached to the New Zealand Rifle Brigade). At the time of his enlistment on 16 July 1915, aged 25 years, 5/614 Arthur Page listed his occupation as Grocer, of Kingsland, Auckland.

    He left New Zealand on 9 October 1915, landing initially in Egypt, then embarking for France on 9 April 1916. The rest of his service was spent on the Western Front, with periods of leave in the UK, and finally leaving Liverpool aboard the Northumberland, on 28 March 1919. Arthur Page arrived back in New Zealand on 10 May 1919 and was discharged a month later on 7 June 1919. His highest rank while in service was Company QMS.
