    Medal (part of court-mounted set) awarded to Signaller Cyril RG Bassett, NZ Engineers Divisional Signal Coy., WW1

    a bronze four pointed star with crown at top; across the face are two crossed swords; suspension ring; with ribbon

    obverse: at centre on a scroll is date 1914-15 surrounded by an oak wreath; superscribed below, monogram initials GV

    reverse: flat and plain; stamped with recipient’s details

    ribbon: watered ribbon of red merging into white which merges into blue

    named on reverse: 4/515 / LT C.R.G. BASSETT / N.Z.E.F.
