    obverse: at centre the Royal cypher GRI with VI below; cypher surmounted by a crown superimposed on a circlet which bears the title of the star THE PACIFIC STAR

    ribbon: dark green with red edges with yellow stripe, and thin stripes of dark blue and light blue (ribbon designed by King George VI : green and yellow symbolise the forests and beaches; the dark blue represents the Navy, the red the Army and the light blue the Air Force)
