    Adze (English)

  • Description

    Toki. Adze. Multipurpose tool used for carving wood and other materials. Carved from a basalt stone. Dark brown in colour. Triangular cross-section. Sharp cutting edge. Bevel is at a slight incline, concaved towards the cutting edge. Front of blade is flat and highly polished. Slightly raised shoulder above the blade, reduced to butt. Butt is shorter than blade, is highly polished. Poll is highly polished. Overall surface treatment of the adze is highly polished.
