By the time the first New Zealand branch opened in 1852 it was an established friendly society, providing sickness and death benefits to its members and having a particular concern for widows and orphans. From 1909 their activities were governed by the Friendly Societies Act, which required the compulsory registration of all such societies. The first Auckland Court opened in 1863, and membership reached a peak in the mid 1930s. Since then membership has declined as many of the benevolent functions were taken over by the state.Tangata Hāngāi Ancient Order of Foresters (Maker)Pāoholeather/animal materialmetal/inorganic materialRaraunga Ine240mm230mm15mmHuinga Kaupapafriendly societiesTaumata whakarōpūSatchelBag, CarryingPersonal Carrying & Storage GearPersonal Gear03 Personal ArtifactsWhakahounga o Mua15 May 2023 E hangaia tonutia ana te kohinga tuihono a Tāmaki Paenga Hira; tāpirihia ai ngā whakahoutanga me ngā pūkete i ia wiki.
