    Adze (English)

  • Description

    Toki. Adze. Multipurpose tool used for carving wood and other materials. Carved from toka (stone). Dark brown in colour. Triangular cross-section. Cutting edge is severely chipped. Chip continues into the bevel surface. Front of blade has a large chip on right side. Raised shoulder at the top of the blade, reduces to butt. Butt is roughly polished with pecking still evident. Poll is roughly worked. Overall surface treatment is moderately polished.
