    Adze Fragment (English)

  • Description

    Adze fragment. Toki. Multipurpose tool used for carving wood and other materials. Carved from toka (stone). Grey in colour. Broken from the top of the bevel leading to loss of the cutting edge and bevel surface. Broken at the poll. Lower part of the butt and raised shoulder are intact. Raised shoulder reduced to butt. Butt is roughly flaked. Worked surfaces are uneven and are roughly polished, with pecking evident in some areas.
