    Adze (English)

  • Description

    Adze (rough-out). Toki. Multipurpose tool used for carving wood and other materials. Worked from stone, at the preliminary stage. General shape of the object has been roughly carved out, yet to undergo pecking or further polishing. All surfaces are jagged and rough. Rough outline of a poll, butt and front of blade present. Brown in colour overall.
