    Nassa shell necklace. Shells, especially cowrie and nassa shells, attain monetary value in the Highlands as they must be traded through a number of hands and across sometimes hostile neighbouring territories. THe drop consitis of 13 cord and shell straps. The shells are woven into the cordage. The straps are sewn together at 5 points.
