  • Description

    Toki. Hafted adze. Not intended for practical, everyday use, possibly produced as a tourist item. A toki (adze) shaped from giant clam shell lashed to a shaped wooden handle sourced from a section of tree branch. Lashing of puru akari (braided coconut sennit) of a flat iri taki toru (3-ply braid) lashed on to the top of the haft to secure the toki. No carved surface decoration. Lashing is natural in colour. Carved handle is natural in colour.
