    leather face mask with elasticised cotton straps to secure mask to head, round eye-pieces with wire framing and [cellulose nitrate] lenses, metal screw attachment on mask for attaching squat metal cylinder

    gas mask comprises of two parts, the mask and the cylinder

    inked markings "11011", "1.11.17", "Sch.", monogram impressed on upper side of cylinder and on base, reference markings stamped on screw component of facemask, "3JR', "6", red stencil "75", tape label applied to cylinder, white with black lettering "A WORLD WAR 1 GERMAN GAS MASK"
